AeroPress (inverted) starting recipe

Inverted method: the AeroPress sits upside down so nothing drips while it steeps. A first brew to start from. Brewer sizes vary between makers, so check yours.

Steps

  1. Set the plunger in the chamber about a centimetre and stand the AeroPress upside down on it.
  2. Add 15 g of coffee and pour 225 g of water, wetting all the grounds. Stir for 10 seconds.
  3. Fit a rinsed filter cap, wait until about 1:30 to 2:00, then flip it over a mug.
  4. Press gently for 30 seconds.
  5. Taste. Sour: grind finer or steep longer. Bitter: grind coarser or steep shorter.
